Itinerary
1st. Day LUGO
Arrival to Lugo and transfer on your own to the hotel/hostel. Free time. Accommodation. Lugo is a city that has preserved the most important remains of its Roman past. Worth mentioning is the World Heritage Site, the thermal baths and the Roman bridge. The festivals are also of great tourist attraction and are among the most popular in Galicia. In addition, this city offers great gastronomic diversity, where you can enjoy tapas and wines.
2nd. Day LUGO-A PONTE DE FERREIRA (26,5 km / 7 hrs approx. / difficulty level: easy)
You will have to deliver your luggage at the lobby of your hotel/ hostel before 08:00 hrs. Breakfast. Part of the route runs on local roads, if not on paved paths. The hardest part is the number of kilometres we have to cover today, but the height differences are practically zero. Accommodation
3rd. Day A PONTE DE FERREIRA-MELIDE (20 km / 5 hrs approx. / difficulty level: easy)
You will have to deliver your luggage at the lobby of your hotel/hostel before 08:00 hrs. Breakfast. A stage with strong rural character and with some bumps in the terrain, this stage leads us to Melide, the geographic center of Galicia and the point where we connect to the French way. We recommend the "Vía Romana" which is a little shorter tan the traditional one. Accommodation.
4th. Day MELIDE-ARZÚA (14,1 km / 3 hrs approx. / difficulty level: easy)
You will have to deliver your luggage at the lobby of your hotel/hostel before 08:00 hrs. Breakfast. We leave the province of Lugo and walk to the province of A Coruña. Again, there are a few kilometers to cover so that we can enjoy some of the enchanting towns along the way like Boente and Castañeda until we reach Arzua, famous for the cheese made there. Accommodation.
5th. Day ARZÚA-O PEDROUZO (19,3 km / 5 hrs approx. / difficulty level: easy)
You will have to deliver your luggage at the lobby of your hotel/hostel before 08:00 hrs. Breakfast. A short and quiet stage to process everything that was experienced during the trip before arriving in Santiago the next day. Accommodation in O Pedrouzo.
6th. Day O PEDROUZO-SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA (19,4 km / 4 hrs approx. / difficulty level: easy)
You will have to deliver your luggage at the lobby of your hotel/ hostel before 08:00 hrs. Breakfast. Excitement and strange sensations alternate. It is the last stage. We recommend that you start hiking early to take part in the pilgrimage, which is celebrated at 12:00 p.m. First, we reach Lavacolla and then climb Monte do Gozo, where we can catch a glimpse of the long-awaited cathedral from a distance. Finally, the "Plaza del Obradoiro" and the well deserved personal satisfaction to have achieved the goal. Accommodation
